Press Release – Roger Leishman

We wish to announce that as of April 30th 2019 and following his 87th birthday, Wendover Arm Trust’s Restoration Director Roger Leishman is stepping down from this role.  Roger has devoted 24 years to the restoration project, a truly immense contribution.
Roger, who joined in 1995, faced a seemingly impossible task, as the canal had been permanently severed following the demolition of Little Tring bridge in 1973.  But through diligence and persistence. Roger helped the Trust and BW (now CRT) to get the bridge rebuilt by contract, enabling the restoration of the canal to proceed with the Trust’s volunteers.  The picture below shows Roger with our Patron David Suchet, at the reopening of the bridge.

WAT Council will now be inviting Roger to become a Vice President of the Trust.
Please join us in thanking Roger for a magnificent achievement.

Tony Bardwell, currently Assistant Restoration Director, will now become Operations Director and any enquiries or correspondence relating to the restoration should now be directed to him.
Please contact Tony at operations@wendoverarmtrust.co.uk .
