Our section of the Grand Union Canal (including Tringford Pumping Station) featured on BBC1’s Countryfile programme on July 5th 2020
BBC1’s Countryfile programme recently filmed on our section of the Grand Union Canal, including Tringford Pumping Station. We were disappointed not to be involved, but are keen to see the result. I (your webmaster) have discovered that the resulting programme will be shown on BBC1 on Sunday July 5th 5.35pm-6.35pm. I have also collated some […]
I was approached by a live-aboard canal enthusiast who publishes her own videos on YouTube. Her partner had made an excellent video of our restoration site from the air using a drone, and she wanted to film an interview with me. Please view the results at the links below. Please note that if anyone else […]
Wendover Arm Trust today announced its support for the Aylesbury Canal Triangle. This is a project promoted by Aylesbury Vale District Council to create a triangle of improved footpaths. The towpaths of the Wendover and Aylesbury canals form the majority of these footpaths.
One of our restoration volunteers, Boyd Williams, has created a 27 minute video history of our restoration to date of the “dry section” (Drayton Beauchamp to Little Tring). You can find it on YouTube at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bGyESrsDdg
The IWA’s Mikk Bradley has provided a PowerPoint slide showing in detail, the water flows around the Grand Union Canal’s Tring Summit, reservoirs, and Wendover Arm. Since not everyone has PowerPoint, it’s available as a pdf if you click on the link below – you will need to zoom in to see the detail.

The Wendover Arm Trust used to run a Grand Draw – the last was at the Open Day on this date in 2018. Our regular promoter & sponsor Michael Wright has now retired from running the Grand Draw, so we are not running it again (unless you would like to volunteer?).
A glorious day – great to have Chiltern Canoe Club (plus dogs !) paddle boarding. We are grateful to Councillor Penny Hearn, Mayor of Tring who joined us for the afternoon and drew what has turned out be our last Grand Draw (see separate post).
