Why do we need donations ?
Our workers’ time, experience, and commitment come free, as they rebuild the Arm, but the plant and materials they use have to be hired or bought.
Since the work began, over £850,000 has been spent putting the canal back to a restored state and most of the money has been raised by Trust members, or donated by supportive partners (such as local Inland Waterway Association Branches).
Where your donation helps
- £5 helps us train our nominated volunteers in First
- £20 donated means we can buy and lay 10 concrete
- £150 donated pays for the hire of a digger for a day
- £400 pays for a metre of canal to be restored
We aim to make it easy for supporters to donate by offering several donation methods listed on the right.
Trust Members can also option to join our Club 100 lottery which gives out cash prizes every quarter.

Finally, you can help us and help your own Company or Organisation by becoming a Sponsor.
If you give £1 in the normal way, the Trust will receive precisely £1. But if you complete our donation form when you give your donation and say you would like to Gift Aid your £1, the Trust will receive £1.25 – in other words increasing the value of your gift by 25%.
Whichever way you choose to donate - Thank you !
